If someone you love has passed and you're carrying that quiet ache of missing them, you might be wondering whether a private mediumship reading is right for you. Maybe you're scared it'll feel cold, or scripted, or like you're just being told what you want to hear. I understand that fear completely — it's your heart protecting itself.

What I offer isn't vague comfort. It's a genuine connection — real, specific, evidential detail that lets you know, without doubt, that your loved one is still with you. In this guide I want to walk you through what a reading actually involves, how it works, and how to prepare, so you can come to your own session feeling ready rather than anxious.

What Is a Private Mediumship Reading?

A private mediumship reading is a one-to-one session where I act as the bridge between you and the spirit world. It's just us — no audience, no performance. That privacy matters, because it means you can let your guard down completely and feel whatever comes up without worrying about who's watching.

It's a bit different from a psychic reading. A psychic reading looks at your life path — your relationships, your career, the direction you're heading. Mediumship is specifically about connecting with those who've passed. Some people want both, and that's absolutely fine too — we can shape the session around what your soul actually needs right now.

My role isn't to just relay messages like a postbox. I'm there to hold the space for you — to help you feel seen, safe, and supported while something quite profound is happening.

What Makes It Evidential

When you come for a reading, you're not looking for something generic — you want proof. Evidential mediumship means I bring through specific, verifiable details I couldn't possibly have known beforehand. Sometimes they will give names, dates, memories, little quirks and habits — the kind of detail that makes you go "there's no way she could have known that."

I liken it to tuning a radio dial. I'm picking up impressions through clairvoyance (seeing), clairaudience (hearing), and clairsentience (feeling), and it's my job to interpret what comes through as clearly as I can. Sometimes what arrives is straightforward. Sometimes it's symbolic, and we sit with it together until it makes sense.

It's also worth knowing I can't summon a specific person on demand. I open the door and see who comes through. Most of the time it's exactly who you're hoping for. Occasionally someone unexpected steps forward with a message you didn't know you needed — and honestly, those are often the most powerful moments of the whole session.

Readings for Clients Around the World

I'm currently based in Scotland, but distance has never been a barrier to a genuine connection. Energy doesn't work by geography — an online reading is every bit as accurate and profound as sitting across from someone in person. In fact, a lot of people find they relax more deeply in their own home, which often makes for an even clearer connection.

For my clients in the US and Canada, I hold dedicated Thursday (UK evening time) slots, so you're not stuck trying to fit a reading in at an awkward hour of your day.

How to Prepare for Your Reading

You don't need to do anything complicated to prepare — just come with an open mind and a bit of intention.

Find a quiet space where you won't be interrupted, and if you're joining online, make sure your connection is stable. Have a notebook nearby — little details can mean nothing in the moment and everything a few days later, so it helps to jot things down. A glass of water close by never hurts either.

Before we begin, take a few minutes to sit quietly, feel your feet on the ground, and breathe. If you feel nervous, that's completely normal — it just means you care. You can even quietly invite your loved ones to be part of the conversation before we start.

During the session itself, try to stay present with whatever comes up, whether that's tears, laughter, or relief. All of it is welcome.

Life After the Reading

A reading often marks the beginning of something, not the end. The validation and peace you feel afterward is real and valuable, but many people find that the grief or the blocks a reading brings to the surface benefit from further support — which is where coaching and hypnotherapy can help.

Grief has a way of settling into our subconscious, creating patterns we can't always shift through logic alone. Through hypnotherapy and coaching, we can gently work through those blocks together, so you're not just hearing that your loved one is okay — you're learning how you can be okay too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an online reading as accurate as one in person?

Yes, completely. Energy and connection aren't limited by physical distance, and many people actually find they relax more deeply in their own home, which allows for an even clearer connection.

What if the person I'm hoping to hear from doesn't come through?

It's natural to hope for someone specific, but I can't summon a particular soul on demand — I open the door and see who steps forward. If it isn't who you expected, it doesn't mean they aren't with you. Often another loved one brings exactly the message you need in that moment.

What's the difference between a psychic reading and a mediumship reading?

A psychic reading focuses on your life path — relationships, career, personal direction. A mediumship reading connects specifically with those who've passed. All mediums have psychic ability, but not all psychics work as mediums.

Do you offer readings for clients in the USA and Canada?

Yes. I hold dedicated Thursday evening (UK time) slots specifically for clients in North America, so your reading fits into your day without you having to stay up into the early hours.

Can I record my reading?

Of course. Many people find that certain details land more deeply when they listen back a few days or weeks later, once the initial emotion has settled.
